"Let me die" she said as he walked past.

He ignored her request, both wanting to avoid the topic of her illness and knowing that nothing would stop her outbursts.

He'd loved her, ever since the first moment he laid eyes on her. It tore his inside to pieces, every time she wanted to leave him. He knew it wasn't him she wanted to leave, but her pain.

Nevertheless, every time she was sad and he couldn't fix her pain, he felt as if he'd failed her.
