I put the apple down, convincing myself I was happy enough. But deep down, I knew I was just convincing myself that I'd have a chance to come back to grab one later.

I continued walking down the aisle, pushing my trolley slowly. I enjoyed the menial task of shopping for myself, even though I had people who could do this for me and most had their food delivered nowadays.

The store was mostly empty, the groceries stocked to perfection and the generic music playing through the speakers.
