The Cloud Girls Sweep Into Melbourne

It was the year 1803 and Joe Cloud had just purchased a property in Melbourne. It was an old two-storey house. There were seven rooms to choose to sleep in. There was a smoking room, a sewing room, a washroom and even an indoor bathroom. There was a large grass area and then there was the paddock. The previous owner had past away and had left four horses.

Now the Cloud family consisted of one father, Joe, and one mother, Courtney. These two people had three girls. They were Katie, who was 17, there was Kaddy who was 16 and then there was Gabriel, who was 13. Now their mother didn’t know and their father had not a clue, but these three girls were witches. Not bad ones but good ones.

If you want to know how they were magic and none of their parents even knew that magic existed, read on. It all happened 12 years ago in 1791, when Gabriel turned one. When the Cloud grandmother was still alive, she had called for her son to bring in the children. She asked to be left alone with them. It was all sudden and I don’t think they girls really knew, until now.

The Cloud grandmother had given Joe a letter and said to give it to Katie when she turned 16. Now she’s 17.

Gabbie for short was thirteen. All the girls her age were into dolls and hopscotch, but not our Gabbie. She loved to read and loved the outdoors. She had short blonde hair that was always messy. Her eyes were the shade of turquoise and her lips were a vibrant pink.

Kaddy was the second oldest and loved to sit with her mother and sew. She had long brown hair that was always in a plait. Her eyes were a dark hazel colour.

Katie, who was the oldest, like to dress up and put on make-up. Seeing as she was in year eleven, she had a lot of work to study. She was very popular with the boys no matter where she went.

CHAPTER 1

It was the 1st of January, 1803. In two weeks it would be time to go to school. In that time the girls were allowed to walk around the huge neighbourhood and do what they pleased. As long as they stayed together.

The first thing to be checked out by the girls were the neighbours. On the left of them was two families, the Salt family and the Swaine family. In the Salt household there was Mr. Salt, Mrs. Salt and their son, Clyde. Clyde was going to the school the girls would soon be starting at. Clyde was 18 and a Year 12, while Katie was 17 and a Year 11.

The girls had walked onto the front porch of the Saviour and knocked. Clyde had answered the dor and was surprised by the girls. “How do yo do?” He asked and bowed. “You must be the Cloud girls from next door, please come in.” Kaddy and Gabbie were talking to Mr. And Mrs. Salt, while Katie and Clyde went for a walk.

It was around lunchtime when Kaddy and Gabbie left. They had left Katie with Clyde. The girls knew that they had to stay together, but Katie wouldn’t leave. They went home for lunch, and then they set off to explore their next neighbour.

The next house they visited was the Swaine resident. This family consisted of Mr. Swaine and Mrs. Swaine. They had one sun, Mark, who was 14, and one daughter, Annie, who was 8.

Mark also went to Cloudsdale High School. He was a Year 8 like Gabbie. By the time Kaddy and Gabbie left it was dark. They had to get Katie and rush home before their mother started to worry. It looked like the houses were real close, but because they had so much land that it took ages to walk from house to house.

When they got home with Katie, their mother had already set the table and the dinner was out and still steamy.

This is a longer version of the last two:

Cara and Kateari meet at all girls school. Cara moves to Cloudsdale high. Gabbie likes Haz. Cara likes Mark.
